Fugue by Louis Couperin

The photograph shows Aude Heurtematte at the historic "Couperin" organ at St-Garvais, located a stone's throw from the Hôtel de Ville. Ms. Heurtematte is titular organist at St-Gervais.
The video is a performance of a Fugue by Louis Couperin played by organist David Warren Steel, accompanied by a slide show of photographs of St-Garvais et St-Protais. Louis Couperin was organist at St-Gervais, and the historic 5-manual organ is still in use. The console and keyboards are extant from 1758, and the original (short compass) pedal board is stored in a walk space under the organ chambers. Many pipes installed in 1601 are still speaking, although most of the reeds were added by Clicquot in the 18th century.
In the video slide show, the first photograph of Mr. Steel (wearing a blue shirt) shows the organ console at St-Gervais. Notice the candle holder to the left of the music rack!
